Hiking in Antalya
Hiking is an activity that is good not only for our body, but also for our soul. It offers a great way to strengthen our muscles, relax our mind and enjoy nature. This hike from the top of Tahtalı Mountain to Beycik village in Antalya is an excellent option for both health and adventure seekers.
Tahtalı Mountain and Beycik Route: Natural Wonder
Tahtalı Mountain is located west of Antalya with its 2365-meter peak and is a dream route for hikers. A distance of about 9 kilometers is covered on this route, while a height difference of 1565 meters is exceeded. During this trip, visitors also take pleasant breaks while exploring the amazing beauties of nature. If walking is done at a slow and relaxed pace, it can take about 5 hours, but for those who move more slowly, this time can last up to 6 hours.
Route and Journey
Your hike starts at the bottom station of the Olympos Cable Car. During this trip, you will pass national parks covered with pine trees, enjoying breathtaking natural landscapes. After about 11 minutes of ride by cable car, you will reach a height of 2365 meters and step to the top of Tahtalı Mountain. The word Tahtalı means “wood” in Turkish, and pieces of wood belonging to ships were found on this peak in the past, which is why this mountain was called “Tahtalı”.
When you reach the summit, there is a half-hour coffee break with spectacular views. Looking around from the top of Tahtalı Mountain, you will be captivated by the magic of this natural wonder.
Starting from the summit, the walk continues towards the village of Beycik. The first 45-minute section offers a non-steep route, but after 45 minutes you will encounter a steeper slope. These areas are treeless and offer a stony ground, so it is important that you exercise caution. But when the slope returns to normal, you can continue walking while enjoying nature.
After the second break, located at an altitude of about 1500 meters, your walk continues in the wooded areas. In this section, the slope is steeper, but walking at a slow pace makes it pleasant. After about 1.5 hours you will reach the village of Beycik.
Your nature walk ends in the village of Beycik and you have a short tea break in a cafeteria. Then the journey back to your hotel begins.
This tour is organized with a minimum of 2 people, but you can also participate as a single person by paying in full. You will have an unforgettable vacation, experiencing the amazing natural beauties and rich cultural heritage of Antalya together.
